For this week's packed edition of The Fanboy Podcast, host Mario-Francisco Robles kicks things off with his response to the news that Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins is about to head out into that galaxy far, far away with a film called Rogue Squadron. He sounds off on what excites him about Jenkins and other similarly talented filmmakers getting to make a Star Wars movie.
Things then turn towards Zack Snyder's Justice League, which may no longer be called Zack Snyder's Justice League. The film now has a projected release month, as well as some intriguing whispers about what's gone into the 4-5 of additional footage Snyder is adding to his story. MFR shares the rumors he's heard about who was able to shoot more, and who wasn't, and how that factors into the endeavor's rumored $70 million budget.
And why isn't it called Zack Snyder's Justice League anymore? Oh, and it's another f**kin' rated-R DCEU movie from Snyder? I'm shocked.
From there, we go into the latest between the issue between Ray Fisher and WarnerMedia over conduct on the set of Justice League- and what that means for the likes of Joss Whedon and Geoff Johns.
Tessa Thompson's latest comments regarding the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder have MFR realizing a tip he'd gotten about Marvel's future plans was spot on.
And then, with proper *SPOILER WARNINGS* he concludes the episode by reacting to The Mandalorian's second season coming to an impactful end.

Yesterday us geeks of the world got hit with an avalanche of news from both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars Galaxy. The Fanboy Podcast host Mario-Francisco goes item by item, reacting to the projects that were announced during that Disney investor's call.
From there, MFR turns his attention to Christopher Nolan's petulant attacks against Warner Bros and HBO Max regarding their decision to do the safe thing by making all of their 2021 films available on the streaming service on the same day they arrive in theaters. Unsurprisingly, Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins has a very different take on it as we prepare for her film to arrive on HBO Max on Christmas Day.
Jenkins also made some curious comments regarding the theatrical cut of Justice League and her desire to honor Zack Snyder's vision for these characters, which don't exactly ring true.
Joe Manganiello was back in the headlines this week, discussing the discarded plans for both Ben Affleck's The Batman and his own Deathstroke origin film. MFR seizes this opportunity to discuss the likelihood of us seeing any of those projects getting a new lease on life.
From there we shift to the insane news that Alfred Molina's Doctor Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus) will be appearing in Jon Watt's Spider-Man 3, joining Jamie Foxx and J.K. Simmons on the list of "Actors and Characters from previous Spidey franchises" that are set to appear in this live-action Spider-Verse.
Things then wrap up with a response to a fun listener question regarding what Christopher Reeve's fifth outing as Superman could've looked like, post-Batman '89.

On this week's episode of The Fanboy Podcast, host Mario-Francisco Robles starts things off right away by breaking down the news that Warner Bros is bringing its entire 2021 film slate to HBO Max. There are several aspects of this news that act as an escalation of what was discussed last time, and MFR is excited to point out how this will BENEFIT Warner Bros and HBO Max in the long run- even if it's a bummer that these movies won't strike the kind of box office gold they otherwise could have.
From there, he goes into two listener/viewer questions:
- Should a theatrically-released Batman film be rated-R?
- Will we see Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin show up in Spider-Man 3?
The next subject on the itinerary is Star Wars.
MFR discusses how The Mandalorian truly is the fulfilled potential of Disney's decision to relaunch and continue the Star Wars galaxy.

On this week's show, host Mario-Francisco Robles leads with the huge news that Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 is set to launch simultaneously in movie theaters and on HBO MAX on Christmas Day, December 25. He gives context for what this means, since folks are struggling to see this as anything but a loss for HBO MAX and Warner Media since the film would've easily cleared $1 billion at the global box office if they could wait until life gets back to normal in the states. In this new age we've entered, box office receipts are secondary to streaming dominance.
From there, MFR fields two questions sent in by listeners. One is about George Miller's Justice League Mortal, and how the DC cinematic landscape would've looked very different if they film had managed to get made. The second is about which upcoming Marvel project he's most excited about (HINT: It involves the next Captain America!).

On this week's show, MFR shares the breakthrough experience he had watching MAN OF STEEL with his family. The lifelong Superman breaks down how several moments finally landed, and how the film simultaneously filled him with the joy that comes with having another Superman movie to love...while also reminding him that we're unlikely to ever get a true sequel.
From there, he discusses Zack Snyder's recent Catwoman tease, and the picture it paints of a Bat-centric storyline for his Justice League next year.
He then turns his attention towards the latest rumors about when (and how) we'll be able to see WONDER WOMAN 1984, and how the pandemic is forcing Warner Bros. to make some tough decisions about the hotly-anticipated sequel.
